Information on Death Certificates

I am trying to find the maiden name of a ggg grandmother, Mary Thorp, who probably would have died in Jackson Co. in the 1880s. He daughter Eliza Thorp probably would have died there in the early 1900s. Before I make the effort to obtain these people's death certificates, I was wondering if death certificates from this period in Iowa/Jackson Co. generally included a deceased's maiden name or the names of his/her parents. Thanks
