Tete Des Morts

Johann Dietrick Apmann and his wife Anna Maria Bose are shown in the 1860 census as living in
Tete Des Morts, Jackson, Iowa, they had a son, Johann Heinrich Apmann in Bellevue by 1860 they had moved on to Minnesota.

I would like to know if Tete Des Morts was a stopping point for Germans?? Or if there are any one that knows about the Apmann or Sander family
