CAHALAN Family

CAHALAN, CALLAHAN, REED, LAMBORN

Winifred Cahalan was thought to be the child of Irish parents and was orphaned at a very young age having been born in Jo Daviess Co. IL in 1838.

She shows up in the household of Michael Cahalan in the 1850 census, Jackson Co., Bellevue Twp. I don't know her relationship to the others in the household.

Edward Cahalan age 24 M Pilot of S. Boat b. Canada
Michael Cahalan age 22 M Farmer b. Massachusetts
Julia Cahalan age 16 F. b. Massachusetts
James? Cahalan age 14 M b. Massachusetts
Eliza Jane Cahalan age 11 F b. IA
Ellen Cahalan age 8 F b. IA
Frances Cahalan age 6 F b. IA
Winfred Cahalan age 12 F b. IL
Edward Kelly age 9 M b. IL
Mary Ann Kelly age 11 F b. IL
Frances Kelly age 7 F b. IL

She at some time lived with the Alexander REED family also of Bellevue Twp. She married William LAMBORN in 1857 in the Reed home.

A pallbearer at her funeral was reported as a John Callahan.

Winifred was my wife's gg-grandmother and we would like to hear from anyone with knowledge of this family.
