Obit request for Anne Margrethe Thomsen Petersen/Peterson

PETERSEN, PETERSON, THOMSEN, THOMSON

I am asking that someone do a look up for an obit on my 2xgreat grandmother-Anne Margrethe Peterson/Peterson -maiden name Thomsen.

She was born in Sillerup, Haderslev Schleswig Holstein area that was Germany-later became Denmark...on 10 Mar 1846 to Thor Thomsen and Anna Margrethe Jurgensen.

She married Søren Pedersen 9 Feb 1875 in Egtved Denmark. They immigrated to America via German in 1878-1879 and came to Sabula Iowa.

Soren died in January 1906, there in Sabula and I have his obit from a wonderful person who did a look up for me...and it gave me more information that I ever dreamed of getting in my lifetime.

However Anne seems to have been 'lost' after death. Her name is on Soren's headstone in the Evergreen cemetery, but no dates were inscribed on it.

I have an old family document that states she died
19 June 1918...but the funeral home in Sabula only has records that show a burial for an Anne M Peterson, but in 1914, and there is not any definate information on the funeral home records that I can use to show this is my great grandmother Anne.

I need to find her exact date of death to have her headstone inscribed. This needs to be done. It bothers me to think that no one did it for her.
I am pretty sure that she is buried there, as the old doc I have states she and Soren are buried together...and this would fit as she had purchased many plots when Soren died in 1906.

It would make sense she died in June 1914, as her only daughter died very young in May 1914...and the cause of death the funeral home shows is dementia...and that would fit. Anne lived with her daughter Mary Petersen Whitney since 1906 when Soren died and is on the census with Mary, Mary's husband David G. Whitney, and their 2 living children at that time, Viola and Hazel Grace Whitney.

The children of Soren and Anne are as follows:
Peter N Petersen
Andrew Carsten Petersen-died there in Sabula
James M Petersen
Mary Petersen Whitney
Nelse or Nels Peterson
Thomas Petersen/Peterson

So, the years to check would be 1914 and 1918. The other drawback is the this family, my family of Petersen's spelled it as Petersen and Peterson...so it could be spelled either way I'm afraid.

I would be very grateful if someone had the time to do this for me. Her sons all scattered and tracking them down has been the hardest thing I have ever done. I was able to find their home in Denmark, right down to a sattelite photo, easier than this !

Thank you in advance.

Lori Peterson Callaway

ps I have posted her husband's, Soren Petersen, obituary in the obit page here on Jackson County Genealogy, it may help someone else. In the obit, as you will see, their last name is spelled both ways in it.
