MILES — Meta Marie Walbohm, 93, formerly of Miles, died Tuesday at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Preston. The Rev. Greg Geier will be officiating. Burial will be in the Miles City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Monday at the church. The Law-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 4, 1912, in Schleswig, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, to Nicolaus and Emma Straus Jepson. She married William A. Walbohm on Oct. 14, 1933, in Germany. He died in 1990.

She worked as a waitress with Hoenicke Cafe, Preston, for many years.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Preston, as well as the St. John’s Sarah Circle and Rebeka Lodge.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Linda (Robert) Randecker of Savanna; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
