Donald Specht

MAQUOKETA — Donald W. Specht, 82, of Maquoketa, died Saturday at Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Public graveside services and burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scott officiating. There will be no public visitation. The Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 13, 1923, in Maquoketa to Henry G. and Emma Brodersen Specht.

He was an Elwood High School graduate.

He farmed on the family farm in the Elwood area for more than 30 years.

He lived at the Maquoketa Care Center for almost 18 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Denger of Delmar and Beulah Clark of Waterloo; one sister-in-law, Rosemary Specht of Maquoketa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
