Ellen Mangler

Funeral services will be 2p.m. Monday in Sabula Methodist Church for Ellen Hester Mangler, 83, of Sabula. Mrs Mangler died Friday March 7 in her home.

Burial will be in Miles Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 0 p.m Sunday in Law-Jones Funeral Home , Sabula.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Mark, Lonnie, Tod ,Guy Mangler, Darwin Paddock,and Jim Brundage.

Honorary pallbearers, all grandsons , will be John and Rockie Mangler Darrell Paddock, ,Dan Brundage and Jason Sandholdt. Mrs. Mangler was born Sept 22, 1902 in Miles, to Charles and Apama Blacksten Yappen . She married Albert Mangler Sr. on May 25 1921. He died Nov 2,1940. She was an Avon representative for 22 years and in 1985 was elected to reign as Sesquicentennial Queen during Sabula's 150th birthday celebration.

She was a member of the Methodist Church; Mississippi Unit No. 74 Legion Auxiliary, Sabula, where she held all offices and was presently membership chairman; World War II Veterans Organization; Senior Citizens Club; and Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include four daughters Mrs. Marvin (Apama ) Paddock, and Mrs Robert (Isabelle) Brundage, both of Sabula, Mrs Wesley (Lucille) James of Bloomington , Minn. and Mrs James (Mary) Sandholdt of Oskaloosa; four sons, Wayne of Clinton , and Charles, Lloyd and Albert Jr. of Sabula; 33 grandchildren ;56 great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two half sisters, Christina (Henry) Daehler of Maquoketa and Edna (Leonard) Tracy of Baldwin; and a half brother, Clifton Yappen of Spragueville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two grandchildren and four great -grandchildren.
