Obituary of Mrs M. Haley

Lydia Ann Dobson, was born in Ohio, March 13,1854 and died at her home, Jan 8, 1923, being at the time of her death 68 yrs. 9 mo. and 25 days of age.

When she was about ten years old she removed with her parents , to a small farm west of Sabula, later to town where she was married on Oct. 25, 1870, to Martin Haley, who preceded her in death about five years ago.

To this union nine children were born, four of whom are deceased, leaving five to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother. They are Martin Haley amd Mrs Anna Meyers, of this city; Mrs Sarah Snively and Mr Kathryn Scobey of Lyons, Iowa and Matt Haley of Los Angeles, Calf.

She also leaves to mourn her loss, two sisters and two brothers; Mrs Harvey Provin, of this city ; Mrs Sarah Kemp of Omaha, Neb; Jacob and Ed Dodson , of this city. She had six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mrs Haley was of a quiet and home loving nature, numbering her friends by her acquaintances. To know her was to respect her every action. She was ever thoughtful of her home and loved ones, also her friends and neighbor; often assisting where help was sorely needed.

On Sept 5 1922, she suffered a stroke of paralysis; but mastering this in her patient way ,she seemed to be recovering nicely, getting around the house very good, suffering much but complaining little. On Jan 2 1923, She suffered another stroke, which took her to her bed never rallying until the Lord relieved her suffering at 4:30 o'clock on Monday Jan 8th
Though being homebound, we will surely miss her in our midst. Furneral services were held at St. Peter's Catholic church at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Rev.Father Friedman officiating at mass and preaching a very comforting sermon . Interment was made in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery.
