JACKSON COUNTY PIONEER DIES
Word has reached here of the death of Mrs. William Slattery, Sr., one of Jackson county's pioneer settlers. Mrs. Slattery was born in Montreal, Canada, 78 years ago and when only eleven years of age came with her parents to the United States, coming down the Ohio to the Mississippi and then up the Mississippi to Bellevue, finally settling two miles west of Zwingle where she resided until her death which came as the result of a complication of diseases For sixty-seven years she has been a resident of Jackson county. She is survived by three sons and two daughters. The funeral was held from the church in Silvis, Rev. Father Mullen officiating.
