From the Fulton Journal 28 April 1908
Don Buckingham died at his home in Sabula, Iowa, Tuesday, April 21, and on Thursday the body was brought to Albany where services were held in the Presbyterian church, Rev. w. B. Smith officiating. Mr. Buckingham was born in Albany in 1857 and lived continuously here until a few years ago when he with his family moved to Colorado for his health. Later they returned to Clinton where they lived several years and had but recently moved to Sabula. Mr. Buckingham was an upright honest man whom all respected and in his long illness was patient and uncomplaining. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias order, the local lodge taking charge of the services. The wife, a son and daughter, and one brother are left to mourn his loss. Burial took place in Oak Ridge cemetery beside the resting place of a son and daughter who passed away a few years since. A number of friends from Clinton and Erie attended the services.
