Edwin L. Edleman, 87, of Baldwin died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1990 at Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa.

He was born July 13, 1902 near Lost Nation, the son of Milton and Mary Andresen Edleman. He was educated at Lost Nation and after graduation he began farming.

Edwin and Lyra Browne were married June 11, 1924 at Maquoketa. The couple farmed south of Lost Nation for several years before moving to their farm near Baldwin. Edwin lived in Lost Nation during the 1950's and operated the East Side Dairy. Each day he brought the milk from his farm to the dairy where he bottled and then delivered the milk to area customers.

The couple then returned to the farm where he lived until entering the nursing home in 1983. Lyra died in 1977.

He is survived by one son, Allen, of Lost Nation; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Maxine) Feddersen, of Lost Nation; one brother, Milton Edleman Jr., of Lost Nation; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, two brothers, two sisters and a great grandson.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 9, 1990 at 1 p.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church at Lost Nation with burial in Lost Nation cemetery. The Rev. Paul Skelley officiated. Casketbearers were Greg Guidebeck, Tim Duwa, Mark Schroeder, Jay Feddersen, Jan Feddersen and Lee Scott.
