Sherry J. Sokol age 71 of Maquoketa Iowa died on Thursday morning February 12007.0 at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa Iowa.A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday February 52007.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa with Chaplain/Celebrant Rev. Ruth Ann Scott of Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 P.M. on Sunday February 42007.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery Delmar Iowa.Sherry J. Westcott was born on March 18 1935 in Hillsdale Michigan to Wayne C. Westcott and Pauline M. (Huff) Westcott. She was a graduate of Onsted Michigan High School. She married James Raymond Sokol in Galena Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 18 1997.Sherry was a homemaker and had at one time worked at Clinton Engines and Mary Bees in Maquoketa as well as for the Naturalizer Shoe Store in Davenport Iowa.Sherry had been a member of the Peace Pipe Players and had been involved in the Meals on Wheels program both in Maquoketa. She had also served as a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed doing cross stitch reading and was an avid sports fan. She especially liked the Chicago Bears and the Iowa Hawkeyes.Sherry is survived by: children- Lynda (Mrs. Craig) Jackson of Maquoketa IA Debra (Mrs. Stanley) DeRita of Blairsville GA Scott (Heidi) Sokol of Garner IA Robin Sokol of Maquoketa IA Joe (Cherilyn) Sokol of Maquoketa IA & Chris (Stephanie) Sokol of Woden IA; a sister- Betty (Mrs. Royce) Durkee of Tecumseh MI; 19 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband a daughter- Sherry & a brother- Tracy.A Sherry J. Sokol Memorial Fund has been established.
