Maquoketa, Iowa, May 19--James Lang, while hoeing potatoes Monday afternoon at the home of his son, Jim, on the Ridge road, was taken suddenly, and the spark of life went out with no apparent suffering, but it was a great shock to all his friends. Mr. Lang had always been well, although seventy-two years of age. Deceased was born in Holstein, Germany, October 1st, 1842. Services were held today by Rev. Boomershine. Prayer was held at his son's home at one o'clock and the remains were laid in the East Iron Hill cemetery. He leaves two sons, Will at Ozark and James near Iron Hill, to mourn a good father.
