Bellevue, Ia., May 21--Mrs. George Nelson passed away at her home on Chestnut and Fifth street. She had been suffering intensely with cancer for nearly a half year. She leaves a husband, a very aged mother and two brothers to mourn her demise.
She was born in Mt. Carroll, Ill., in June, 1849. Was united in marriage with Wm. Lincoln in 1864. Mr. Lincoln with her five children having all passed away. In 1899 she was united in marriage with George Nelson, who now survives her. Funeral services were held for her at the Bellevue Congregational church Sunday at 2 p.m. Pastor C. D. James of the Andrew M.E. church officiated. Interment was made in the North Bellevue cemetery. Her six nephews acted as pall bearers, George, John, Clarence and Ralph of Bellevue, and Charles and William Putnam of Dubuque. Deceased was a member of the M.E. church and taught Sunday school many years, but for her condition of health had to forego the pleasure of church attendance and the teaching of the Scriptures to the young, which was always a delight to her.
