Death of John Henneberry

The sudden and untimely death of John Henneberry, a prominent and successful farmer of Prairie Creek Township, last Monday morning was a painful surprise and shock to his numerous friends and neighbors. He had been sick but a few days with an attack of cholera morbus, but it was not thought that his illness was of such a serious nature as to cause his death.

Mr. Henneberry was born and passed his entire life of 39 years in the neighborhood where he died. He was honored and respected by all who knew him as a man of noble character, and the void, which his removal creates, is keenly felt by all who were accustomed to meeting him in social and business circles. In all his dealings with mankind, of whatsoever nature, he closely adhered to the golden rule. His principals of strictest integrity and uprightness, borne in his individuality in the everyday affairs of life, endeared him to his acquaintances and make his demise more painful.

He leaves a widow and several small children to mourn the loss of an indulgent and loving husband and father. His brother, M. F. of Livermore, Iowa, also survives him and was present at the funeral, which was held at St. Patrick’s Church, Garry Owen, on Wednesday. Rev. Father Kelly officiated.
