Maquoketa, Ia., Sept. 28--The funeral of Mrs. Julia Wilhelm was held this morning at 10:30 o'clock from St. Mark's Episcopal church, Rev. H. C. Boissier, assisted by Rev. Arthur M. Lewis, Mrs. Wilhelm's former rector, officiating. Interment was made in Mt. Hope cemetery. In the passing of Mrs. Wilhelm another of our grand and noble residents has joined the great majority and the city and community are called upon to mourn the death of a woman whose life and example was a beautiful page in the history of this locality. Mrs. Julia Wilhelm was of that type of womanhood that exemplifies the greater wider and nobler, and as a wife, mother, neighbor, friend, portrayed that sterling loveliness that will gleam on long after her passing.

Julia D. Bauch Wilhelm was born in Dubuque, Iowa, August 22, 1860, and passed away at her home in this city Tuesday, September 25, 1917. She came to Maquoketa in girlhood days and has made this city and vicinity her home since that time. On Feb. 1, 1883, she was united in marriage to Harry R. Wilhelm. To that union four children were born who survive: Mrs. Asahel Wing of Clinton county; Mortimer R. of Andrew; Mrs. Ray C. Ripple of Hopkinton, Iowa, and Miss Laura at home.

Mrs. Wilhelm early in life became a member of the Episcopal church and was ever a devoted, consistent member, her children being reared in the faith of their mother. She was a true, devoted wife and a fond, loving mother, a true Christian woman.
