Maquoketa, Ia., June 12--Elsie Cooley was born near Emeline, Jackson county, Iowa, Dec. 4th, 1886. She was the daughter of John R. and Dora Cooley, and grew to womanhood near Emeline and Iron Hill; moved with her parents to Maquoketa, Iowa, where she met and married Robert Kennedy, Sept. 16, 1913. The young couple went to housekeeping at Marion, Iowa, and later moved to Dubuque, Iowa, where they lived until June 8th, 1917, where after a brief illness she passed peacefully away at 5 o'clock a.m. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, father, mother and two brothers, Delbert and Harry Cooley, all being present at her death bed. She also leaves a number of relatives and a host of friends.
