Maquoketa, Ia., Feb. 6--Sunday last Nick Achen was taken down with a severe cold, and his death occurred on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The cold quickly turned into pneumonia and all that devoted friends could do for him proved of no avail. Mr. Achen was landlord of the Andrew hotel and carried on the livery business. Requiem high mass was celebrated in Schruben's hall today at 10 o'clock by Rev. Father Wolf of Maquoketa, and interment made in the Catholic cemetery here.
