Maquoketa, Iowa, March 21--The funeral of the late William Marcus, who died suddenly at his home in Otter Creek township last Friday, was held from the St. Lawrence church in Otter Creek Monday morning.

Deceased was born in Jackson county Oct. 17, 1891, and had spent his entire life on the farm, where he passed away. Some weeks ago he underwent an operation for appendicitis and had supposedly nearly recovered from the ordeal, but a relapse resulted fatally and the end came very unexpectedly. He was an industrious young man and had many friends who will mourn his untimely death. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
