Mina F. Davison Hinrichsen, 100, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away quietly on Sunday evening, June 23, 2019, at Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A graveside service and burial celebrating Mina's life will be held at 1:15 P.M., Friday, June 28, 2019, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Mina was born on August 30, 1918. Her parents were Marco and Edna (Dunn) Walker of Maquoketa, Iowa. She attended the Buckhorn School. She married Glenn Davison in March of 1936 in Maquoketa, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Carl Hinrichsen in 1989 in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Mina worked at various jobs over the years. She farmed with her husband on their crop and livestock farm north of Maquoketa, was a salesperson at Max Ray's Jewelry Store and Gambles Department Store in Maquoketa and owned and operated Mina's Gifts in Bellevue. She loved helping others find just the right piece of jewelry or gift for that special occasion.

Mina had been a member of the Andrew Presbyterian Church where she was the church organist for many years. Additionally, she was a member of the Andrew Petal Pals, and a Sewing and Quilting Circle. She was a longtime volunteer at the Maquoketa Senior Center, where she earned the distinguished Iowa Governor's Award for volunteerism. She stayed active well into her nineties by riding the local RTA bus to attend and socialize at the center.

She enjoyed flower gardening, playing the organ, making quilts, crocheting, cooking, baking, ceramic dolls, and entertaining and hosting. She loved spending time with her family, especially when her son Chuck made breakfast for everyone, and she was more than happy to share all her pie and bread baking secrets with him.

Those left to honor Mina's memory include her children, Chuck (Barb) Davison of Maquoketa, IA, and Virginia Munson of Eagle Rock, MO; 7 grandchildren, Harley (Stephanie) Davison of Baldwin, IA, Carrie (Teagan) Rouse of Bettendorf, IA, Adam (Brittni) Davison of LaMotte, IA, Lisa (Bob) Hilbert of DeWitt, IA, Eric (Stacy) Travis of DeWitt, IA, Ron Munson of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Rich (Roxanna) Munson of Raleigh, NC; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn and her husband Carl, infant daughter Barbara, a daughter Sheila Songer, a brother Phillip Walker, and a grandson Don Munson.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Mina F. Davison Hinrichsen memorial fund has been established.
