Jane C. Breitsprecker

Jane Christine Breitsprecker, 52, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on June 7th, 2019 at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with service immediately following. Thursday, June 13th, 2019 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.

Jane was born on June 19, 1966 at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa, Iowa the daughter of John and Karis (Ketelsen) Kozak. She graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1984 and attended Kirkwood Community College. She married Mark William Breitsprecker on April 20, 2002 at the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa.

Jane worked as a Certified Nursing Aide and was a Manager at Fashion Crossroads in her earlier years in Maquoketa. She also was a Physical Therapy Technician at Bruce Pauls, Maquoketa Iowa and Medical Associates, Dubuque Iowa. She also worked part-time at Junction 21 in Peosta.

Jane loved her family and friends deeply. She sent numerous cards to everyone, never forgetting anyone's birthday, anniversary or special occasion. She loved the outdoors enjoying camping, fishing and traveling to new places to explore. She loved to go antiquing and enjoyed NASCAR. She also enjoyed playing cards, doing crafts, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She cherished the time spent with her family especially at the cabin in Bellevue, Iowa. She also hosted many gatherings and opened her home to everyone. Jane was the glue that kept her graduating class of 1984 close. She organized numerous class luncheons and reunions. She spent a lot of her life helping and caring for others, visiting friends and family in the nursing home.

She is survived by her husband Mark; her mother Karis (Ketelsen) Dietz and step-father Charles Dietz of Maquoketa; her sister Anne Kozak of Claremore, OK; step-brothers, Craig (Scarlet) Dietz, of Maquoketa and Cory (Cheryl) Dietz, of Colorado Springs, CO; uncles and aunts, David and Carol Ketelsen, of Maquoketa, Iowa; and Lane Ketelsen, of Chicago, IL; mother-in-law Juliann (Manders) Breitsprecker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Judith Breitsprecker, John and Heidi Breitsprecker, Doug and Lisa Breitsprecker, Deborah and Barry Ruden, Cindy and Randy Schrobilgen, Cathleen Breitsprecker, Laura and Jerry Heiderscheit and Dianne Hohman. Jane also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved deeply, including her fur-babies Charlie and Tate.

She was preceded in death by her father John Kozak; her Aunt Joan Kozak Hunt: grandparents, Charles and Marcella Kozak, Kelon and Evelyne Ketelsen, and her father-in-law Gerald Breitsprecker.
