Maquoketa, Ia., Jan 9--Mrs. Cecelia Fuglsang departed this life Sunday at 11 a.m., Jan. 7, 1917, aged 77 years, 1 month and 1 day, being born in Germany Dec. 5, 1839, died at the home of her children, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Petersen of Maquoketa.

She and her husband, Hans Fuglsang, settled at Sabula in 1880. A few months later they located south of Maquoketa, where they resided about 25 years till he died, when she moved in a home of her own, which she had occupied 18 years.

She was a good, kind mother, borne 10 children, 2 of whom were left in Germany in infancy and 8 are now living to mourn her death, Mrs. Mary Johnson, Elcamp, Texas; John Fuglsang, Elcamp, Matt Fuglsang, Kewanee, Ill.; Mrs. Mattie Fuglsang, Battle Creek, Iowa; Peter Fuglsang, Maquoketa; Mrs. Dora Petersen, Maquoketa; Mrs. Cicilea Waugh, near Elwood; Mrs. Emelia Wau, near Baldwin. She also leaves 33 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The funeral was held today, with a short service at Peter Petersen's home at p.m. and sermon at the Union church at 2 p.m. Revs. Boissier and Bommershine officiating. Interment was made in Union cemetery.
