Maquoketa, Ia. Dec. 28--Christopher Erp, residing south of the Maquoketa fair grounds, was called to his final rest Dec. 26, 1916, aged 78 years, 1 month and 29 days--born Oct. 27, 1838, in Germany.

The funeral will be held at the home at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 29, 1916. Rev. Grimm, of Lyons, officiating. Interment at Mt. Hope cemetery.

The funeral of Christopher Erb was held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock from his late home in Maquoketa. Rev. Hugo Grimm of Lyons officiated in the English and German language. Interment was made in Mount Hope cemetery. Mrs. Nichols and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Tiesse of this city attended the funeral.

The deceased was born October 27, 1838 in Schleswig, Holstein, Germany. In November, 1863 he was united in marriage to Anna Katherine M. Peters in Germany. In September, 1866, they came to Clinton county but later moved to other cities and for the past seven years had lived in Maquoketa. Deceased had been ill for the past several months and died Tuesday at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 29 days.

He is survived by his wife, one adopted daughter, Mrs. Emma Becker, and two grandchildren, Miss Minnie Becker and Mrs. Laura Miller.
