Preston, Iowa Oct. 10--Friday night Fred Kruse of Preston received a message that his brother Peter was seriously injured in a run-away and not expected to live. Mr. Kruse accompanied by Chris Schroeder expected to leave the same evening for Mission when he received another message that his brother had passed away. The sorrowing widow and son left for Clinton with the remains. Messrs. Kruse and Schroeder will meet her at St. Louis to accompany them home where they will be met by automobiles and conveyed to the Emil Kruse home in Preston where services will be held Wednesday at 1 o'clock with interment in the Ingwersen cemetery.

Preston, Ia. Oct. 13--Friday evening Mr. Emil Kruse of Preston received a message announcing the death of his brother, Peter, who resided at Mission, Texas. Mr. Kruse was plowing and driving a span of spirited mules when a passing automobile frightened them and they commenced kicking which was the cause of his sudden death. Another auto passing by seeing the injured man picked him up and hurried him to the hospital where he received the best of medical attention but of no avail his spirit taking flight for that better land where suffering and sorrows are not known.

Peter Kruse was 47 years of age and passed away at Mission Texas, Oct. 9th. Mr. Kruse was born June 16, 1869. He has always lived on the old home farm until he moved to Texas two years ago last February. In September 1911 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Freda Drellar to which happy union one son was born, who passed away but a few months ago. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, one stepson, Arthur, one sister, Mrs. Schroeder, two brothers, Fred and Emil Kruse of Preston besides a host of friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the home of his brother Emil with interment at the Ingwersen cemetery, Rev. J. H. Moehl officiating.
