Maquoketa, Ia., Nov. 13--Robert Atkinson died Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lucian McDonald, on South Main street, where he had been making his home since his wife died four years ago in DeWitt.

Mr. Atkinson had been in feeble health for some time. He was born in Berkshire, England, August 8, 1833 and came to America in 1851. Most of his life was lived in Clinton county. He married Ruth Rebekah Richardson in 1868, and to them were born six children as follows: Mrs. Mary Atkinson of Clarks, Neb.; Mrs. Jennie Owen, Mrs. John McCutcheon and Mrs. Lucian McDonald and Mrs. Harry McDonald the last four of Maquoketa; also Mrs. Martha Quick of Davenport, also twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. There were services yesterday conducted by Rev. Kidder and today there were services in DeWitt, where the body was laid to rest by the side of the wife.
