Maquoketa, Ia. Aug. 24--After a several days' illness, Mrs. W. D. Haven passed away Tuesday afternoon about 4 o'clock at her home on South Olive street. Although Mrs. Haven had been quite feeble for some time, she had been able to be up and about until a short time before the end came. Deceased was born in New York state April 18, 1840, and came to Iowa about 1855. She was united in marriage to W. D. Haven in 1859 and for forty-five years had made her home in this city, her husband preceding her in death several years ago. She had been a long-time member of the M.E. church and when health would permit was an active and faithful worker in the faith. She is survived by one granddaughter, Mrs. R. L. Phillips of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Ladisso Stanton of Storm Lake, Iowa. The funeral will be held from the late home on Olive street Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery.
