Bellevue, Ia. Aug. 2--Bellevue loses another pioneer citizen in the death of Fred Earnest, Sr. Tuesday evening, due to apoplexy. Deceased was born in Germany and came to this country with his parents when but a little child. He was married at Galena to Miss Kate Leonard in 1868. They owned a farm in Duetell Hollow, where they lived for many years and raised a family of ten children, seven girls and three boys. All with the wife and mother are left to mourn. The funeral was held Thursday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic church, with interment in the Lutheran cemetery. His son, Fred of Bellefourch, S. D. arrived Monday morning, in time for his father to recognize him, but he was not able to talk to him.
