13 June 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser page 10

Bellevue, Iowa, June 13--Henry Schroeder from northwest Nebraska, and John of Western Iowa, were at home Wednesday to attend the funeral of their sister, Edna, who passed away Monday. The funeral took place at the home at 1:30 Wednesday and at the church at 2 o'clock. In spite of the heavy rain a very large number gathered to be present at these last services in commemoration of a departed friend and loved companion and neighbor. Her pastor, Mr. Ernest Mulschman conducted the services. A great many flowers as tokens of loving remembrance were brought by friends of the deceased. In fact there were so many a great part of them could not conveniently be taken to the cemetery as the rain was quite heavy during the burial.

Miss Schroeder dropped suddenly from the presence of the living in a few hours being stricken by peritonitis. She leaves father and mother, five brothers and two sisters besides a multitude of friends to mourn her death, also her fiancé to whom she was to be married in the fall.

Sure "Death is a pitiless harvester with cycle keen, who takes the bearded grain at a breath and the flowers which grow between".

Interment was made in the beautiful Riverside Lutheran cemetery south of town. The pall bearers were Alfred Goetz, Tasso Schoop, Alfred Dieckman, Will Shoop, Will Cook and Ed Marburgher, young men all members of the Luthers league.
