Bellevue, Ia. July 19--We again lost an old and respected citizen in the death of Mrs. Christine Young, for many years a resident. She was born in Germany 71 years ago. She came to this country in early childhood and grew to womanhood at Galena, where she was married to J. G. Young 48 years ago last January. She had been in poor health for some time. She and her daughter Minnie went south last winter in hopes of benefiting her, but she continued to fail until the final summons came Wednesday evening. She leaves two sons and two daughters: George and Joe, in the hardware and jewelry business here, and Mrs. Dr. Moulton and Miss Minnie, who has been her faithful attendant. The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, the pastor, Rev. H. C. Irvine, officiating. The body was laid to rest in the beautiful city of the death south of town. W. F. Schirmer, S. L. Patterson, H. G. Dorchester, Walter Scharnbougher, George Wayhgundt, and J. H. Ottens acted as pallbearers, being members of the Eastern Star lodge. Deceased was a member of that order, also the Patriotic Women of America.
