Bellevue, Ia. May 3 -- At the age of 55 years, Mr. Joseph Shaub passed away at his home on Second street after a short illness of but a few days. He was born in Bellevue, in 1861, in the same house where he spent his life. He followed the occupation of fishing and was well acquainted with the life on the river and the fisherman's lot.

He leaves two brothers and three sisters to mourn his loss. Services were conducted at the home by Mr. Ernest Mutschman, pastor of the Lutheran church, Wednesday afternoon. His brothers, William and George, nephews, Fred Wilber and George, and cousin, Charles Oberman were pallbearers. Interment was made in the North cemetery.
