Barbara Tabor, 88, of Baldwin, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 6, 2019, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 11, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 P.M. on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin, Iowa.

Barbara Dwigans was born on July 7, 1930 in Carroll, Iowa, to Merritt Joseph and Ada Pearl (Long) Dwigans. She was a 1948 graduate of Manly High School and attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon for one year and then the University of Iowa from 1949 to 1951. She married Dennison Clifford Tabor on February 10, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2012.

Dennison and Barbara returned home from Iowa City on March 6, 1951 to the family farm where she became a homemaker and volunteer extraordinaire.

Barbara was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Monmouth, Iowa, the United Methodist Women, GFWC and the PEO. She enjoyed cooking, reading, being with family, and cheering on the Hawkeyes.

Barbara is survived by her children, Kay Dee (Bruce) Ingham of Davenport, IA, Brian (Deanna) Tabor of Baldwin, IA, Dave (Durene) Tabor of Monticello, IA, and Phil (Nancy) Tabor of Maquoketa, IA; "other son Brian" Brian Marceau; a sister, Nancy Lasell of Indianola, IA; 13 grandchildren, Wyatt Tabor of Iowa City, IA, Adam (Angela) Tabor of Hickory Hills, IL, Andy Ingham of Minneapolis, MN, Abby (Paul) Fischer of Baldwin, IA, Alex Ingham of Minneapolis, MN, Jessica (Tobi) Luetkemeier of Monticello, IA, Megan Tabor of Davenport, IA, Michael (Melissa Osman) Tabor of Kirkland, WA, Kathleen Tabor of Newport, VT, Elizabeth Tabor of Baldwin, IA, Molly (Eric) Coddington of Ames, IA, Jacqueline Tabor of Ames, IA, and Sarah Tabor of Iowa City, IA; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennison, a son Robert D. "Bob" Tabor, and a brother Merritt Joseph Dwigans Jr.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa or Heifer International.
