MRS. FRANK RONEK

Mrs. Frank (Anna) Ronek, age 59, died at her home near Bernard last Thursday morning, following a protracted illness.

Funeral services for this estimable lady were held from the Devaney Funeral Home Saturday morning to St. Patrick's church, North Garryowen. The Very Rev. Msgr. Raymond P. Duggan, pastor of Sacred Heart church, Fillmore celebrated the Requiem High Mass. Rev. Thos. O'Toole, pastor of St. Patrick's, delivered the sermon.

Interment was made in St. Patricks' cemetery with Rev. O’Toole, assisted by Msgr. Duggan, officiating.

Anna, a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Cain) Cannon, was born April 1, 1891 at Bernard. She received her education in the local schools and on April 23, 1919 she was united in Holy Matrimony with Frank Ronek at St Patrick's church. The young couple immediately engaged in farming in that community and continued in that vocation throughout the entire life of the deceased.

St Patrick's parish, scene of her baptism girlhood and marriage continued as her home parish throughout her entire life. She was a member of its rosary society and affiliated with the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women.

Mrs. Ronek was a devoted mother. She is survived by her husband, one son James, Bernard, three sisters — Mrs. Mike (Grace) Maloney and Mrs. Charles (Mary) O'Brien, both of Bernard, and Mrs. Joseph (Linda) Sheehan, of Dubuque; two brothers — Joseph Cannon, Bernard, and George Cannon, Chicago, Ill. and four grandchildren, all of whom will hold, her memory in deep affection. Preceding her in death were three sons, a sister and three brothers.

Pallbearers at her funeral on Saturday were. T J Carr, Jerry Ryle, Ray Recker, James Maloney, Neal Koch, James Flanigan.
