Richard G. "Dick" Lund, 77, of Andrew, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at his home in Andrew, Iowa.

A celebration of Dick's life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 23, 2018, at Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 P.M. on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Andrew, IA Cemetery.

Richard Gene Lund was born on August 16, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, to John Edward and Clara Pauline (McConkey) Lund. He was a 1958 graduate of Andrew High School and always remained close with his classmates. He married Margaret Ann Gerlich on August 22, 1959, in Bellevue, Iowa. To this union three children: Julie, Janet and Jean.

Dick first worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa as an inspector for 20 years. He then worked at Caterpillar in Mt. Joy for three years on the assembly line, and lastly for Andrew Meats for over 17 years.

Dick was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew, and the Jim Beam Club of Cedar Rapids. He had formerly served as a volunteer fireman on the Andrew Fire Department, and as a former Andrew City Councilman. He enjoyed traveling with Margaret and going on bus trips with favorite places being Branson and the Smokey Mountains. He especially loved spending time with his family and always looked forward to the Andrew class reunions.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Margaret Lund of Andrew, IA; children, Julie (Randy) Kirk of Bellevue, IA, Janet (Todd) Treat of Andrew, IA, and Jean (Craig) Luna of Clarksville, TN; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Georgia Shady of Maquoketa, IA, and Lillie Hancock of Bellevue, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Clara and Thelma, and brothers John Jr., Lewis, Hubert, Leslie and Ronald.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Richard G. "Dick" Lund memorial fund has been established.
