WAVERLY -- Lois L. Felderman, 95, of Waverly, died Friday, May 2, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly.

She was born July 27, 1918, near Bellevue, daughter of Elmer and Blanche Hartman Gaylor. On Sept. 8, 1940, she married Edmund Felderman in Bellevue. He died on Aug. 17, 1970.

She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1937, and then taught country school for a time near Bellevue. Lois and her husband farmed the Felderman family farms near St. Donatus. Following her husband's death, she moved to Bellevue and went to work as a cook for the Bellevue School System. She moved to Waverly in 1978 and was a cook for Bartels Lutheran Home, Waverly, retiring five years later. She then took a certified aid course and spent the next few years as a care giver for families in the Waverly area. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survived by: two daughters, Doris (Dale) Woods of Iowa City and Susan Johnson of Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kay Felderman of Summerfield, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Ardis Gaylor of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Dennis; a sister, Garland Reed; and six brothers, Lester, Ray, Donald, Richard, Frederick and Kyle Gaylor.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly, with burial at 3 p.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, St. Donatus. Visitation will be for an hour before services Monday at the church. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.
