ZWINGLE, Iowa - Richard D. "Whitey" Felderman, 76, of the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown, formerly of Zwingle, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at the Iowa Veterans Home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League and the Tri-State Viet-nam Veterans Association. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., Dubuque.

Mr. Felderman farmed most of his life. He also worked at A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co.

He was born on June 12, 1928, in Jackson County, son of Henry Jr. and Anna (Busch) Felderman.

He grew up in Richland Township until joining the Army. He served in the Korean War and returned to the Bellevue and Zwingle area.

In 1989, he went to the veterans home in Marshalltown.

Surviving are a brother, Laurence Felderman, of Dubuque; a sister, Bendina (Donald) Klett, of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Irene Gau, Lois Felderman and Alice Blosch; a brother, Wilford Felderman; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Felderman.

A Richard D. Felderman Memorial Fund has been established
