Fred McLimans, 61, of Dubuque, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with Pastor John Sorenson officiating. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born on Jan. 17, 1951, son of Ralph and Kathryn (Foley) McLimans. He married Yvette Budde-Felderman on March 16, 1999.

Fred worked at John Deere Dubuque Works and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 94. Fred also served on the board of directors for Key West Sportsmen Club.

He most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed camping and boating (upon his wife's request). He also enjoyed hunting and the great outdoors, but his true friends will know what he really enjoyed.

Surviving are his wife, Yvette; children, Heather (Dean) Sieverding, Chad Felderman and Terra (Scott) Strohmeyer; his grandchildren, Ashley (Jack) Osterhaus, Alicia, Audrey and Alyx Sieverding, Taylor Domer, Delanie Brooks and Jaxen and Jolee Strohmeyer; three brothers, Ed (Patti), Jack (Robin) and Jerry (Julie) McLimans; two sisters, Betty (Mike) Stohlmeyer and Debra (Dave) Baker; his Godson, Shane McLimans; his mother-in-law, Ila Budde; many sisters- and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Glenn, Raymond (Buster) and Johnny Budde; many close friends will also be there to welcome him into his new life. Let the card playing begin.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
