LA MOTTE, Iowa - Henry J. Wiegert, 82, 28999 250th Ave., La Motte, died Tuesday morning, Feb. 3, 1998, at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Donatus, with the Rev. Michael Zamzow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis and Troy Hingtgen, Terry Hingtgen, Roger Heacock, Kenneth H. Oberman and Brian Oberman. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mr. Wiegert farmed in the Bellevue area prior to moving to the present farm, 1/2 mile south of La Motte in 1959.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1915, in rural La Motte, son of Fred and Regina (Frerichs) Wiegert. He married Alice S.M. Duesing on Jan. 31, 1939, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue; she died May 10, 1995.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, La Motte, and the Jackson County Farm Bureau. He cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Lyle, at home; three daughters, Arlice (Aaron) Heacock, Charlene (Kenneth) Oberman and Ruth (Lloyd) Hingtgen, all of La Motte; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Viola Bormann, Helen (Harvey) Duesing and Marie Hankemeier, all of Bellevue, and Lula Wohlers, of Dubuque; and a brother, Fred (Mary) Wiegert, of Bellevue.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Henry Jr.; two brothers, Albert and Karl; and a sister, Frieda Drahn.
