Cornelius Noonan, who operated a barber shop in Dubuque for a number of years, died at University Hospital in Iowa City on early Friday morning. Funeral services were held from the Devaney Funeral Home to St. Patrick’s church, Garryowen, Saturday morning where the Rev. James Cassidy, pastor, offered the Requiem High Mass and delivered the sermon. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas Rooney of Dubuque was present in the sanctuary and officiated at the burial in St. Patrick’s cemetery, assisted by Rev. Cassidy.

Pallbearers were: Patrick, Raymond, Frank, Robert and D. T. Noonan and Joseph Anglin. Mr. Noonan was born November 9, 1877 in Garryowen, son of Patrick and Johanna (Barry) Noonan. He is survived by two brothers, Edward and Michael Noonan, both of Maquoketa, and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister and two brothers.
