Ernest Federspiel, 90, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, formerly of Ecumenical Towers and Bernard, Iowa, died at 1:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at the care center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael's Cathedral, with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, North Garryowen, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 4 p.m.
Mr. Federspiel farmed in the North Garryowen area for many years.
He was born on Jan. 11, 1909, in North Garryowen, son of John and Mary (Williams) Federspiel.
He was a former member of St. Patrick's Parish in Garryowen and was a current member of St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque. He formerly enjoyed hunting.
Surviving are two sisters, Rose Horsfield and Mary Driscoll, both of Dubuque; a brother, George (Vera) Federspiel, of Bernard; a friend, Helene Dalsing, of Dubuque; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Vince (Louise) Nemmers and Viola Federspiel; and a brother, Joseph Federspiel.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque, 3448 Hillcrest Road, Dubuque, Iowa 52002.
