P. C. Noonan

P. C. Noonan, who for years was one of the best known citizens of Northern Jackson county, died at his home in Garryowen last Saturday after an extended, illness due to cancer. He suffered long and patiently until death came to relieve him of earthly pain.

It was with feelings of genuine sorrow that the many friends of the deceased heard of his death. His long residence in Garryowen and his business as a merchant in the popular country store gave him a wide acquaintance and a great popularity. He was a genial and whole souled man, a Christian gentleman and a devoted husband and father.

Patrick Charles Noonan was a son of John O. and Ellen Noonan, and was born in Butler township, Jackson county, Iowa, December 20, 1849, and therefore lived all his lifetime in the vicinity of his birthplace.

Mr. Noonan is survived by his wife, and the following children by former marriage: Mamie, Mrs. John L. Cooney, of Chicago; Annie, Mrs. Jerry Houlahan, of Decatur, Ill.; Nellie, Mrs. George Ober, of Portland, Ore.; Miss Lettie, at home; John of Chicago; Henry, of Portland, Ore.; Joseph at home. He is survived by one brother, John Noonan.

The funeral services were held at St. Patrick's church Monday forenoon, Rev. P. J. Coffey officiating.
