PRAIRIEBURG, Iowa -- Eugenia "Jeanie" M. Noonan, 80, of Prairieburg, formerly of Garryowen, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Manor Care, Cedar Rapids.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Garryowen, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Garryowen. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where there will be a wake service at 4:30 p.m.

She was born on July 10, 1927, in Garryowen, daughter of Patrick and Ida (Gavin) Callaghan. She received her education in the rural country schools in the Garryowen area.

She married Merlin W. Noonan on Aug. 7, 1956, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Garryowen. They farmed in the Prairieburg area; he preceded her in death on March 30, 1998.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prairieburg.

Surviving are four children, Mary (John) Austin, of Vinton, David Noonan and Regina (Moses) Mohamed, both of Southaven, Miss., and Bob Noonan, of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Joseph Mohamed, Andrea (Maurice) Austin-Menzi and Susan Austin and Jacob (Sarah) Austin; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Kay Noonan, Mae Noonan, Ann Noonan and Rita (Larry) Hartung.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, baby Dennis, on Sept. 4, 1968, and Dennis J. Noonan, on Aug. 18, 1976; five sisters, Raechal Wolfe, Verna O'Connell, Bernadine (Wolbers) Hines, Grace Keating and Ione Callaghan; and three brothers, Larry, Ralph (Scoop) and Bob Callaghan.
