DEATH OF MRS. O. McMAHON

Mrs. Catherine Ellen McMahon, wife of Owen McMahon, of Washington township, Jones county, died at 6:30 p. m., Tuesday, February 8th, after a brief illness from a complication of diseases.

Mrs. McMahon, whose maiden name was Catherine Ellen Flynn, was born in Dubuque July 17, 1862. She was married in that city to Owen McMahon, Sept. 17, 1890. Some years later they came to Jones county to reside.

She is survived by her husband, five sons and three daughters, namely: Frank, Raymond, Albert, John and James and Lorraine, Gertrude and Florence. James, Gertrude and Florence reside in Chicago. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Margaret Artland, Mrs. Anne Nolan, Mrs. Patrick Quinn and Edward Flynn, of St. Louis.

One brother, Michael, and one sister, Mrs. Bridget Colason, preceded her in death.

Mrs. McMahon was a woman of grand motherly virtues, who was faithful and indulgent to her family, and she died fortified by the sacraments of her faith as a consistent member of the Catholic church. The husband and children have the deep sympathy of the entire community in their irreparable loss.

The funeral was held this (Thursday) morning at St. Patrick's church, Garryowen at 10 o'clock p. m., Rev. D. P. Mulcahy officiating.

Compliments of Joseph Cahill
