Jerry R. Kurt,33, of rural Bernard, died Thursday morning, Jan. 26, 1995, in St. Joseph's Unit-Mercy Health Center, Dubuque, of injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident on Bellevue-Cascade Road, rural Bernard. Services: 11:30 a.m. Monday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Garryowen. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where a wake service begins at 7 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Linette; and his parents, Charles and Kit of Bernard.

Also surviving are his parents-in-law, Larry and Linda Stanton, two sisters-in-law, Lesley and Laura Stanton, and three nieces, Alexia, Carlie and Kylee Stanton, all of Maquoketa; and his best friends, Kraig and Judy Kruse, Randy Ehlinger and Raymond O'Connell, all of Bernard.

Born Aug. 2, 1961, in Dubuque, to Charles and Elizabeth "Kit" Dunne Kurt, he graduated from Cascade High School, Cascade. On Oct. 22, 1994, he married Linette Stanton at First Lutheran Church, Maquoketa. He farmed in the rural Bernard area and was employed with Three Hills Rodeo and The World's Toughest Rodeo. He also was a truck driver for Mooder in Bernard. He was a volunteer with the Bernard Fire Department and an EMT-A with the Bernard Rescue Squad.

A Jerry R. Kurt Memorial Fund has been established.

Jerry R. Kurt,33, was pronounced dead Thursday morning, Jan. 26, 1995, in St. Joseph's Unit-Mercy Health Center, Dubuque, following a one-car accident on the Cascade-Bellevue Road in rural Bernard. Arrangements are pending at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
