The Aged Mrs. Mary Williams Dies At Garryowen

Mrs. Mary Williams, aged 80 years, one of the oldest women in Garryowen, died last Friday night, after a long and useful life.Her maiden name was Mary Phillips, and she was born in county Tipperary, Ireland. She emigrated to this country at an early date. Her husband is dead, but the following children survive her: Matt. and John, of Garryowen; Robert, of Gem, Idaho; Mrs. Michael Keneally, and Mrs. Charles McCarthy, of Garryowen. She was a sister-in-law of Matt. Williams and aunt of Sheriff Thomas F. Phillips, of Dubuque, and T. V. Williams and Mrs. Ted Barrett, of this city.
The funeral was held Sunday from St. Patricks church, in Garryowen. The Rev. Father Kelly officiated.
