DEATH OF LUCY E. CRISICK

In another column will be found notice of the death of Lucy Crisick, only daughter of John Criscik, Esq., of LaMotte, Jackson County. This was a young lady greatly esteemed and well known in Dubuque County, and a few particulars of her life will not be improper at this time. She was born in Boston Township, Summit County, Ohio, and came with her parents to Iowa soon after the close of the Great War, and grew to womanhood refined and cultivated, of firm religious character and possessed of all the virtues which adorn the sex. For six years past she has suffered from a severe disease, and on the 29th of September last underwent the operation of excision of the hip joint which she endured bravely. After this operation she appeared to rally, but ultimately sunk from the extreme exhaustion caused by intense suffering for so many years. She died with a clear mind fully appreciating her condition and confiding in the grace of her Redeemer, and passed away to meet her sister Mary in that pure existence beyond the dark swelling tides of time. A large circle of loving friends and acquaintances join with the beareved parents to mourn her early death.
