Ruth Gamwell Perkins, 92, of Seattle, formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with the Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1918, in Dubuque, daughter of Raymond and Margaret Powers.

After graduating from Clarke University, she moved to Seattle and worked as a stewardess for Pan Am Airlines. She met her husband on a flight to Alaska, where he flew to buy and sell lumber. In later years, she moved to Bellevue, Wash., and sold real estate.

Surviving are her two daughters, Anne Gamwell and Julie Gamwell Meyer; and three grandchildren, Michelle, Ben and Andrew.
