Maquoketa, Ia. – Services for Mrs. Edward Bell, 86, were held Monday afternoon in the Carson Balster Funeral Home. The Rev. Herbert Shaeffer, of the Delmar Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Union Cemetery south of Maquoketa. Mrs. Bell died about midnight Friday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Cressey, north of Maquoketa. She had been in frail health for several years.

The former Jennie Sarah Peterson, daughter of Jacob and Susan Peterson, she was born near Maquoketa Dec. 18, 1862. In 1900 she was married in Battle Creek, Ia., to Edward Bell, who died in 1935. One child and two brothers also preceded her.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Cressey and Mrs. Laura McDonald, of Davenport.
