Maquoketa, Ia., April 5. – SPECIAL: Clyde Tilton, 48, prominent farmer and stock buyer living four miles from Maquoketa, was instantly killed Saturday afternoon when he fell from the top of the silo on his farm onto the floor, suffering a complete fracture of the skull. The silo was empty.

Mr. Tilton had been preparing to drive to Maquoketa and had gone to the silo to make some measurements. When he did not return to the house his wife went to see what detained him and found him dead on the silo floor.

Besides his widow, Mr. Tilton is survived by a daughter Maxine and a son Jack. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. T. G. Southworth, Rochelle, Ill. He was born at Rochelle but came to Maquoketa when a young man and has lived here since. No funeral arrangements have been made Saturday afternoon.
