MARY CLARKSON DIES IN CLINTON

Mary, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ehrensberger, was born near Preston, October 11, 1901 and grew to womanhood in that vicinity and attended the Preston schools. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in young womanhood and while in Clinton became a member of the Methodist church. On July 12, 1922, she was united in marriage to Luke Clarkson and to this union a daughter, Gertrude, and a son, Vernon, were born. She lived in Clinton all her married life.

Mrs. Clarkson passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 8:20 p.m. unexpectedly and suddenly at her home at 536 16th avenue, Clinton, aged 24 years, 3 months and 25 days. Besides the sorrowing husband and two motherless children, her aged parents, one sister, Mrs. Fred Lickmann, and three brothers, Henry, Frank and Chris, survive to mourn her early departure.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, prayer at 1:30 p.m. at the home of her her parents one mile east of Preston and sermon by Rev. D. F. Boomershine at the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Burial was made in the Preston cemetery. The floral tributes were beautiful and expensive. The sympathy of the whole community goes out to the bereft family.
