SHADE BURLESON

Maquoketa, Ia. – SPECIAL: Funeral services for Shade Burleson, 76, retired Jackson County farmer, will be held here Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Harrison Funeral Home, with the Rev. H. D. Green, pastor, of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Burleson died suddenly in the yard at his home here Tuesday following a heart attack.

He was born Dec. 22, 1866, near Maquoketa, son of, Mr. and Mrs. S. V. Burleson. He was married Nov. 10, 1904, to Jessie Dow and they farmed in this vicinity until some years ago when they retired and moved to Maquoketa.

Surviving are his widow; one son Ralph of Maquoketa, two daughters, Mrs. Eula Cary and Catherine both of Clinton; one brother Clarence of Maquoketa; two sisters, Mrs. W. E. Tubbs of Des Moines and Ada Roberts of Maquoketa.
